Pangarchulla trek

The Pangarchulla peak is one of the most beautiful welcoming peaks for the trekkers visiting the Garhwal Himalayas. In the Pangarchulla trek some amount of experience is required on the trekkers’ side. The summit, that is, the Pangarchulla peak touches sky at a ravishing height of 15,069 ft above the mean sea level and is one the contributing factors for the trek’s difficulty. Although the trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty but this trek is nowhere a good choice for beginners. Before taking on the Pangarchulla trek it is advisable to prepare your body for harsh weather and thin atmosphere at higher altitudes where there is insufficient presence of oxygen which can only be achieved by opting for other low altitude treks in the Himalayan region. However, for trekkers, who have already gained experience from prior treks, the best time to visit the Pangarchulla trek is either during summers or during winters as these months provide suitable weather conditions for trekking.

Taking on this trek during monsoons is a big no since the trail which encompasses various mountains of the Garhwal Himalayas suffer landslides blocking roads and the heavy rainfall also makes it hard to pitch tents. Other than the customary challenges this trek offers far more to remember. The snow-laden mountains namely Nanda Devi, Hathi Parbat, Dunagiri, Ghori Parbat and Chaukhamba at altitudes greater than 10,000 ft above the sea level surrounded by floating clouds bathed in the setting sunlight in shades of pink and gold will leave you mesmerized by their mysterious setting and much more importantly a unique calm to take back with you. The Pangarchulla trek with its right amount of challenges and abundant scenic beauty is a complete package for trekkers who want to level up their trekking game by taking it up a notch.
